The Hawker Fury is a British biplane fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force in the 1930s. It was a fast, agile aircraft and the first operational RAF fighter aircraft to be able to exceed 200 mph (322 km/h) in level flight. It had highly sensitive controls which gave it superb aerobatic performance. It was designed partly for the fast interception of bombers and to that end it had a climb rate of almost 2,400 ft/min (730 m/min, powered by a 525 hp/391 kW Kestrel engine) RESTORATION This Hawker Fury II is currently under restoration to fly by award winning restoration shop Vintech Aero of Gatineau Canada. Fresh off their EAA award winning Supermarine Spitfire IX and Canadian Car & Foundry Hurricane XII restorations, Vintech is now undertaking the restoration of one of the most iconic military biplanes to ever fly, the Hawker Fury II. The engine has already been overhauled in the UK by Aero Vintage Ltd. and delivered to Vintech in Canada. Restoration standard is to the highest level and is being built to the standards Vintech Aero are known for. The restoration is scheduled for completion within 36 months.
