About Cessna - L-19/O1 Bird Dog
1951 Cessna L-19A/O1 is a tandem-seat, high-wing taildragger that was built for military observation and liaison usage. Originally delivered to the US Army National Reserve in Kansas, the plane was last use by the US Army in August 1973 before being registered in September 1973 with tail number N3952 and re-registered in 2014 with tail number N305FU. A restoration was initiated by two A&Ps in Cincinnati in 2018 and completed in 2021 after the plane was purchased by my father in 2020. Power is provided by a Continental O-470 flat-six which underwent an annual inspection in July 2025, as did the airframe, ELT, and Noyes-STC McCauley fixed-pitch cruise propeller. Finished in a dark olive green livery, the plane also features dual stick controls, hydraulic disc brakes, a Noyes-STC gravity-feed fuel system, electric flaps, an Eisenhower step, Garmin communication equipment, and wing-mounted air-to-ground rockets. Come with the FAA airworthiness certificate and current FAA registration.
